Seniors


 Aleutian Housing Authority owns and operates two(2) Senior Centers in the Aleutian / Pribilof Region. 

 The following is a brief explanation of the current programs available to those who qualify.

 

Unalaska Senior Center Father Ishmail Gromoff

79 Eleanor Way, Unalaska, AK 99685, (907) 581-5044

Manager: Harriet Hope

  • 15 Apartments - 13 - One bedroom and 2 - Two bedroom apartments.
  • Major appliances, carpeting are included. 
  • On-site Manager
  • Commons Area equipped with a full commercial kitchen, tables and chairs.
  • Weekly luncheons are available.
  • Bus rides to the community stores and Post Office are offered three times a week.
  • Tenants 62 years of age and older are charged 15% of their annual income for rent.
  • Tenants under the age of 62 are charged 30%.

To qualify for this program the applicant must be 55 years of age or older and have an annual income at or below the income limits established by HUD. Click here to see the income limit table. 


John Misikin Senior Citizen Center

  • 14 Apartments - 12 - One bedroom and 2 - Two Bedroom apartments.
  • Major appliances, carpeting are included.
  • On-site Manager.
  • Commons area equipped with efficiency refrigerator, stove, and sink, table and chairs.
  • Activities i.e. tea parties, prize bingo, game nights and more
  • Bus rides to the community store and Post Office are offered twice a week.
  • Tenants 62 years of age and older are charged 15% of their annual income for rent.
  • Tenants under the age of 62 are charged 30%.

To qualify for this program the applicant must be Alaska Native / American Indian, 55 years or older, and have an annual income at or below the income limits established by HUD. Click here to see the income limit table.
