Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska
 Notice of 2012 Home Rehabilitation Project

The Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska has authorized Aleutian Housing Authority (AHA) to proceed with a 2012 Home Rehabilitation Project in Unalaska, Alaska.  The elgible improvements authorized by the Qawalangin Tribal Council are as follows:

Essential Improvements:  Those that threaten the health or safety of the residents, or the structural integrity of the home.
Accessibility Improvements:  Those designed to meet disability/livability  related needs.
Energy Efficiency Improvements:  Those that increase efficiency of energy use in the home, including Energy Star Appliances.

The eligibility requirements are:

1.  Alaska Native or American Indian
2.  Low-income as determined by HUD
3.  Rehabilitation on Primary Residence in Unalaska Only
4.  Current on payments, if applicable to the Tribe, AHA, or Federal Government
5.  All improvements will be based on home needs as determined through AHA Home Inspection
6.  $25,000 cap per Project

The required documentation:

1.  Completed Home Rehabilitation Application with documentation requested:

a.  Current  two (2) Tax Returns for everyone over 18 residing in household
b.  Signed IRS form 4506-T Request for Transcript of Tax Return
c.  Certification of Other Income (i.e. Native Dividends, Social Security, ATAP, Longevity, Retirement, etc), if       applicable
d.  Current two (2) months Bank Statements, if applicable
e.  Current two (2) months Pay Stubes, if applicable
f.  Certification of iNdian Blood (i.e. CIB Card, Tribal Card, or Corporation Card)

This program is funded through the Native American Housing and Self Determination Act (NAHASDA).
